They were at
the airport sat down in front of the departure lounge. She had her suitcase
beside her, her head leant against his shoulder and her gaze fixed on his left
hand holding hers.
He was with
his left arm behind her back caressing her shoulder while staring at his black
Converses.
They could
hear people walking, talking, dragging their suitcases, but at the same time,
it was like there were only the two of them in the world
She took a
deep breath and whispered loud enough for him to hear it “I don’t wanna go.”
“What? Why?” he said with a gentle voice looking at
her and holding both of her hands.
She looked at
him and said “Because I don’t wanna leave you. I want to be with you.” Her
voice was sad and she had tears in her eyes.
He didn’t
know what to say. In a few minutes she would get in an airplane destinated to
England and they would not be able to see each other for one year. Of Course he
wanted her to stay, but he couldn’t be selfish. Not now.
“Don’t worry
about me, baby. I’ll be right here waiting when you come back. We’ve talked
about this before, remember?” he told her with a soft voice, but he was crashed
on the inside. He couldn’t picture himself living one year without her.
“I know.” Now
she had tears running all over her face “but I’m gonna miss you so much and I
don’t wanna lose everything that we have. I’m afraid that the time would change
how we feel about each other.”
He had his
heart broken to see her crying and saying all those things. But he couldn’t let
her give up on her dreams.
“It won’t change. Unless we want it to. Believe me we
are going through this together.”
“I know that
I’m being so stupid to tell all these things now, but I guess part of me was
hoping you would ask me not to go.” She said whith her gaze turned to the floor.
“Hey, look at
me” and when she did he continued “Of course that I want you to stay with me,
but I can’t be selfish right now. You dream about this fashion internship in
London for years and now that you’ve got it I can’t make you give up.”
“I’m scared”
she said starting to cry again.
“Don’t be.
I’m gonna be here missing your smile, your eyes, your red hair, your freckles”
he was smiling and she did the same than he went on “I’m gonna miss you singing
along to the radio with the lyrics all wrong, you being clumsy all the time,
your kindness and your tears” with his thumb he whipped a tear rolling through
her cheek and she closed her eyes “So don’t worry about it. As long as we feel
what we feel about each other, nothing else matters and we are gonna get
through it. I promise.” He pulled her closer and held her tight against his
chest.
They were
interrupted by a woman’s voice calling her flight.
“So… that’s
my flight. I guess this is goodbye.”
“This is not
a goodbye. It’s more like a ‘see you soon.’”
She walked
toward him until she was close enough to feel his breath. She closed her eyes
and soon felt his lips touching hers really gently and soft. He pulled her
closer and she almost lost her breath but she didn’t want to break this moment.
When they finished, he kissed her forehead and said “So… that’s it. Goodbye.”
“No. It’s not a goodbye. See you soon”
She took her
suitcase, kissed him again and walked toward the departure lounge.
While
watching her go he felt his heart breaking and a tear fell from his eyes.
“See you
soon.”
Ele mantinha o braço esquerdo passando pelas costas dela e
nossos sentimentos.
O coração do garoto estava partido ao vê-la chorando e
falando todas aquelas coisas.
medo. – disse ela começando a chorar novamente.
